Randall Herman, D.V.M.

Randall Herman, D.V.M.

Dr. Herman graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1975. In 1975 he opened New Hope Animal Hospital with one employee and began to build his dream of a hospital that would provide quality veterinary care. Today New Hope Animal Hospital employs more than 20 people and Dr. Herman's dream has come true. The veterinarians and staff at New Hope Animal Hospital share Dr. Herman's vision and strive to provide your pet with the highest quality care. A proud grandfather, Dr. Herman stands behind his philosophy that "Pet's are family".

Janet Gordon, D.V.M.

Janet Gordon, D.V.M.

Dr. Gordon grew up surrounded by animals on her grandparents farm in Kansas, where she created bug hospitals out of egg cartons. This early love of caring for animals led her to K.S.U., College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her degree in 1981. She has been a veterinarian at New Hope Animal Hospital since 1988. Dr. Gordon is an accomplished artist and her drawings can be found on many of our client handouts. Her hobbies include horseback riding, rollerblading, and mountain biking. She shares her life with Ron (husband), Sarah and Michelle (stepdaughters), Kahlua (dog), Ozzie (lorikeet), and High Voltaj (horse).

Lori Pfeifer, D.V.M.

Dr. Pfeifer grew up in Detriot Lakes and has wanted to be a veterinarian since the Second Grade. She realized this dream when she graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1990. With her husband, Brian, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and biking.  They share their home with a very spoiled cat named Callie and a cockatiel named Alfie.

Calrla Kilty, D.V.M.

Dr. Kilty grew up on a crop farm near Hector Minnesota. Since her first word "kitty" she has followed her love of animals. She graduated from teh University of Minnesota with her DVM degree in 2006. She and her husband, Don, live in Minneapolis with their pets Smiley (greyhound), Harry (box turtle), and Alex, Otis, and Tigger (cats). In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking with Smiley, and working on her house.

 Veterinary Technicians

Certified Veterinary Technicians

Our technicians are the foundation of all care at New Hope Animal Hospital. The technician's role is to implement and carry out the diagnostic tests and treatment plan as set forth by the veterinarian. The hospital could not function without the hard work and dedication of this loyal  group. All technicians that work at New Hope Animal Hospital are graduates of accredited technician programs and certified by the state of Minnesota.

Receptionists

Receptionists

Our receptionists are the public relations team of New Hope Animal Hospital. They are the voice you hear first on the phone and the face you first see when you come in for your appointment. They are trained to assist you with everything from scheduling a routine appointment to getting your pet help in the event of an emergency. Our receptionists maintain our client record and account management systems keeping your pet's health history right at our fingertips.

Veterinary Assistants

The veterinary assistants are the all around handy gals at New Hope Animal Hospital. They assist the veterinary technicians with everything from anal glands to x-rays, helping comfort and hold your pet during these procedures. They are also responsible for the scheduling and care of our boarding guests, providing lots of love and attention. And the list goes on... food ordering, general cleaning, stocking inventory, yard maintenance (your dog poops it, they scoop it). New Hope Animal Hospital relies on the veterinary assistants to keep things running smoothly.
